Aug 4 | Negotiations Continue

Schumer and Pelosi are not budging off the demand for $600 (or for billions in state and local government relief funds), and the GOP isn't budging off $200 and nothing for state and local governments.

“The President has said that he wants to do something about unemployment benefits (and evictions) via executive action and he is exploring options. The hard-core UI geeks at NELP and elsewhere don't know that there is anything effective he could do for UI via executive action.  But the fact that he's talking about it means he's feeling the pressure and that's very important.” (NELP)

Mitch McConnell is not even involved in the negotiations at this point.

Negotiations are between White House Administration (Steven Mnuchin and Mark Meadows) and Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer.
